Our Finishes
Honed & Polished Concrete are your go to for concrete floor design when you are ready to create your home.
We can take your concept and budget and turn it into a complete specification and a detailed quote. Then leave it to us to do what we do best - turn your concrete into beautiful floors.
Here is guide to the types of finishes we can do for you:
Mechanically Polished Concrete
Is the process of mechanically polishing a concrete floor using diamond polishing pads. It is an incredibly hard wearing product, far outlasting film coated concrete (estimated at 5 times the life span). Available in 4 gloss levels: Matt, Satin, Mid Gloss, High Gloss.
DiAMONDFLOOR
Our DiAMONDFLOOR system is the best mechanical concrete polishing system available in the market today. Developed from relentless testing, it uses the best products and tools available. Each component: the abrasives, chemicals, machinery and the methodology used by our technicians are designed to work together like clockwork to produce a superior finish. DiAMONDFLOOR is a multi award winning product taking out the “Best Decorative Concrete” award with Master Concreters Australia.
Exterior concrete finishes
DiAMONDFLOOR alfresco is a matt finish designed to be a low slip surface suitable for around pools, patios and alfresco dining areas. It can be done to your preferred level of stone exposure and with either a natural or colour enhanced penetrating sealer.
Levels of stone exposure
Burnished / Nil Exposure
We keep the patterning created by the concreter’s mechanical trowel giving a continuous grey finish across the floor.
Salt and Pepper
Cutting just slightly more to reveal the fine sand and stone to the size of a peppercorn.
Random Exposure
Where stone is occasionally fully exposed but little or no exposure in most of the floor.
Light exposure
The floor is honed with just one pass using course honing abrasives to reveal stone to varying size.
Full exposure
The floor is honed through multiple passes to fully reveal the stone mix consistently within the concrete.
Other Finishes
While honing & polishing concrete is our specialty, our team of concrete professionals offer a broad range of services including: Film coating, Epoxy overlay; Micro toping and Concrete surface restoration.

Film Coatings
As a more economical alternative to mechanical polishing we can film coat your floor after it has been honed. For interior use we use water based polyurethane coatings with very low VOC levels, which are widely used on Terrazzo floors in shopping centres. Externally we use a UV stabilised solvent acrylic which provides a low slip, satin finish.
Epoxy Overlays
This finish can be a plain colour, or a multicolour textured flake. We start with honing the floor to provide a solid key for the overlay, then two very thick layers of epoxy are applied, after curing it is sealed with 2 coats of clear for a great face lift to basic concrete.
Concrete Micro topping
Is an engineered concrete that provides a thin but tough layer of 3-5mm over an existing floor where the concrete is not suitable for polishing. We offer two choices:
MiCROFLOOR
Our own product using much of our tried and tested tools and processes. The finish is grey with a similar look to a new concrete floor.
Pandomo
The industry leader in micro topping technology, floors can be created in any colour you like.
Concrete Surface Restoration
We can prepare a floor for a new surface by removing old paint or glue, rectifying high points across the floor using a straight edge and laser level, and cutting down pebble-crete to honed finish to revitalise the finish.
Innovations
CLEARJOiNT crack control finishing system
This is our own addition to the development of polished concrete as an evolved flooring product. When a floor has been cut to allow crack control lines, the resultant finish can look quite industrial when left empty or filled with silicon. We devised this method to provide a furniture grade solution to this component of the floor. This product is not restricted by copyright so if you are a trades contractor please contact us and we will give you an instruction sheet on how to produce this.
